Who We Are

About Forested India

Our Story

Born From a Love
for India’s Wilderness

Forested India was born from a deep-rooted love for India’s wilderness and a passion to protect it. What began as a conservation-driven travel initiative is now a multi-faceted organisation working across ecotourism, education, and field-based research.

At our core lies a simple belief: that conservation must be woven into everyday life. That’s why we host hands-on naturalist and teacher training programs, conduct wilderness camps for children, promote sustainable agriculture, and work closely with rural communities — all while offering soul-stirring expeditions that celebrate India’s natural and cultural heritage.

Our Vision

A Future Where Every Person
Feels Connected to Nature

We envision a future where every individual — regardless of background or experience — feels a meaningful connection to the natural world. At Forested India, we believe this connection is the first step toward conservation. By fostering curiosity, empathy, and wonder through immersive ecotourism and hands-on education, our goal is to cultivate a generation that doesn’t just admire nature — but actively protects it.

Come, explore wild India with us — not just to witness its beauty, but to become a part of its protection.

Our Approach

What Sets Us
Apart

🔭
Naturalist-Led

Every expedition is led by experienced, qualified naturalists who have dedicated years to understanding India’s ecosystems — not just guides, but storytellers and scientists.

🐾
Small Groups

We deliberately keep our groups small. Fewer vehicles, fewer people, deeper experiences — and far less disturbance to the wildlife and habitats we cherish.

🌎
Conservation at the Core

We are not just a travel company. Every booking contributes to on-ground conservation — habitat restoration, community support, and ecological research.

Our Purpose

Conservation &
Wild India

Forested India Camp

Our Field Station at
Kudremukh National Park

Nestled on the edge of Kudremukh National Park in the Western Ghats, our field station — Forested India Camp — is both sanctuary and classroom. It hosts ongoing research, habitat restoration, and a variety of conservation-led programs for students, scientists, and nature lovers.

The camp is also home to our sustainable agriculture initiative — cultivating the land in harmony with the forest, integrating traditional wisdom with ecological principles, and running free educational sessions for local communities and small-scale farmers.

Conservation Programs

What We Do
on the Ground

📚
Education & Outreach

From local school programs to expert-led wilderness workshops, our outreach efforts aim to bridge the gap between people and nature. We believe that education is the first step towards conservation.

🌿
Rainforest Restoration

We actively work towards the regeneration of native forest cover. Our team engages in planting indigenous species, removing invasives, and monitoring ecosystem recovery — one sapling at a time.

🧹
Clean-Up Movements

As caretakers of wild spaces, we organise and participate in forest trail and river clean-up drives, collaborating with communities, trekkers, and volunteers to preserve the sanctity of nature.

🔬
Research

Our camp serves as a base for ecological research — from biodiversity surveys and amphibian studies to behavioural ecology and habitat assessments. We welcome collaborations with institutions and individual researchers.

🌾
Sustainable Agriculture

At Forested India Camp, we cultivate the land in harmony with the forest — using organic methods, mixed cropping, and soil-regenerative techniques. We conduct free educational sessions for local communities and small-scale farmers to encourage eco-friendly, climate-resilient farming.

🌎
Collaborate With Us

Are you a researcher, institution, or volunteer group interested in working with us? We welcome meaningful partnerships in conservation and research.

Our Belief

India’s Wild Future
Depends on Those Who See It

Every traveller who witnesses a tiger in its forest, or stands in a restored rainforest patch, goes home changed. We dream of a world where forests thrive, communities coexist in harmony with wildlife, and people find both joy and responsibility in the wilderness. Forested India is our humble step in that direction.
