Forested India was born from a deep-rooted love for India’s wilderness and a passion to protect it. What began as a conservation-driven travel initiative is now a multi-faceted organisation working across ecotourism, education, and field-based research.
At our core lies a simple belief: that conservation must be woven into everyday life. That’s why we host hands-on naturalist and teacher training programs, conduct wilderness camps for children, promote sustainable agriculture, and work closely with rural communities — all while offering soul-stirring expeditions that celebrate India’s natural and cultural heritage.
We envision a future where every individual — regardless of background or experience — feels a meaningful connection to the natural world. At Forested India, we believe this connection is the first step toward conservation. By fostering curiosity, empathy, and wonder through immersive ecotourism and hands-on education, our goal is to cultivate a generation that doesn’t just admire nature — but actively protects it.
Come, explore wild India with us — not just to witness its beauty, but to become a part of its protection.
With over 17 years of experience studying India’s wilderness — especially the rainforests of the Western Ghats — Dhiraj brings deep ecological knowledge and inspiring storytelling to every experience. A Disney Conservation Hero, he designs and leads our expeditions, workshops, and conservation initiatives with a mission to reconnect people with the natural world.
Harshita combines scientific insight with calm, grounded leadership. She manages field operations, social media, finances, and logistics — ensuring our programs run smoothly. A dedicated naturalist, she also co-leads workshops and heads our all-women expeditions, empowering others to find strength and inspiration in the wild.
Every expedition is led by experienced, qualified naturalists who have dedicated years to understanding India’s ecosystems — not just guides, but storytellers and scientists.
We deliberately keep our groups small. Fewer vehicles, fewer people, deeper experiences — and far less disturbance to the wildlife and habitats we cherish.
We are not just a travel company. Every booking contributes to on-ground conservation — habitat restoration, community support, and ecological research.

Empowering educators to take nature into the classroom. These workshops equip teachers with creative tools and ecological frameworks to blend nature awareness and conservation into conventional education — making the natural world a part of everyday learning.

Our camp serves as a base for ecological research — from biodiversity surveys and amphibian studies to behavioural ecology and habitat assessments. We welcome collaborations with institutions and individual researchers.
